Hello again,

It's been a few cold days here in London but I've braced myself and I finally made it to some exhibitions before they closed today! Hooray!
Friday I went to see Zaha Hadid: Early paintings and drawings at The Serpentine.  I really wanted to see this as I became fascinated by her paintings after watching a documentary on her a while back.  To get there I had a long walk in Hyde park and by the lake (it was pretty cold!).  I definitely don't allow myself enough time to go walking out and about so I really appreciated it and the odd snowflakes that were falling!
Saturday afternoon I went to see Anselm Kiefer - Walhalla at the White Cube Bermondsey.  There was a big queue but it moved pretty fast and I'm really happy I went.  I'd read varying reviews of the exhibition but I really loved it.  Especially the huge paintings.  Such fantastic colours and textures.  I've often missed exhibitions in the past because I haven't made time to go and I'm determined not to let that happen anymore!

By the Serpentine.  I didn't envy them!

Have a lovely week, I'll be back soon :)

Sunday 5 February 2017

Hello again,

I thought I'd share a piece of work I've completed just recently.  I could carry on making endless work about my travels I have to say as I've really enjoyed taking inspiration from my trip and creating illustrations on that theme.  I still have lots of ideas left to explore.   Travel is just the BEST thing for inspiration especially when you visit somewhere for the first time.
I really wanted to be able to sit and sample tapas at one of the little bars at La Boqueria but it was always really busy when I went there.  I did end up buying some tasty snacks though (of course, sampling local food is always a highlight of any trip!) and I loved the displays, the fruit and vegetables in particular were always pretty impressive.

That's it for now I'll be back soon until then have a great week x
